2009 Robertson Winery Number One Constitutional Road Shiraz

This could be one of the best if not the best South African Shiraz that I've had the privilege to consume.  Absolute smooth velvet on the tongue.  It has all of the major characteristics that you crave from a Shiraz from this region.  Ripe Blackberry, dark fruits and loads , I mean loads of pepper.  Fruit forward at first then balances out with a spicy finish and leaves you wanting more and more.   I purchased this bottle at a really cool place in Milton, GA called "SIPS" (www.sipwineshop.com)  The owner recommended this bottle for my friends and I to take home and enjoy later that evening.  Buy this baby by the case for the discount....The Winery tasting notes mentioned potential 7-10 years for those that chose to hold.

I give this wine 8.95 BigBecks out of 10.
I give "SIPS" 9.0 BigBecks out of 10 for their Tapas and wine selection.
