This Sonoma County special combines old vine fruits from both the Sono and Russian River Valleys. The 91% Zin combined with the 9% Petite Sirah and aged 14 months in oak bring a mouthful of enjoyment. I do not drink many Zins these days, but if they are as pleasurable as this find, I will start again. The notes of clove, dark black plums rush the senses. Slight hints of vanilla on the back palate adds length and depth to this gem. I would recommend that this be a permanent part of any cellar. I am searching now for the 05 (pictured here) to compare the vintages. I went against my usual $$ philosophy and paid around $28 for this a year or so ago. I now see it priced closer to $35-$40 online. I would not have any problem recommending this wine up to $50. The best Zin I have ever had.
I rate this wine 9.1 BigBecks out of 10
